Sponsorship Workshops & Conferences

Active members are eligible to apply for direct sponsorships from the Society to attend relevant workshops and conferences.

In addition, further sponsorship opportunities may be made available through educational grants received from industry partners, pharmaceutical companies, or through the ID and IPC training programs, to support members nominated by the Society.

Direct Sponsorship

Annual sponsorship allocation

The Society will allocate up to RM10,000 annually for direct sponsorships to members, subject to the availability of funds and EXCO approval.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Types of events

Events must be relevant to Clinical Infectious Diseases (ID), Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS), or other closely related fields.

  • Priority considerations
    • Members presenting abstracts (oral/poster) will be given priority.
    • Members who have not received any sponsorship in the past 24 months will be prioritized.
    • A Master Sponsorship List shall be maintained for transparency and tracking.
  • Discretionary approval
    • All applications are subject to approval by the EXCO, based on the availability of educational grants and relevance of the event.

 

Individual Sponsorship Amounts

  • Local conferences: Up to RM1,000
  • Southeast Asia: Up to RM3,000
  • East Asia, Singapore, Australia: Up to RM4,000
  • Europe: Up to RM5,000
  • USA: Up to RM6,000

 

Eligible Expenses

  • Registration fees are covered.
  • Travel and accommodation expenses may be considered at the discretion of the Sponsorship Committee.

 

Sponsorship with External Educational Grants

The Society may request and receive educational grants from the following sources:

  • Industry partners or pharmaceutical companies
  • Affiliated societies or professional organizations
  • Registered society members
  • Recognized training programs in Infectious Diseases (ID) and Infection Prevention & Control (IPC)

These educational grants may be used to support members nominated by the Society to participate in:

  • Conferences or workshops
  • Meetings related to training programs
  • Research activities

The sponsorship may cover registration fees, travel, and accommodation, subject to the availability and specific terms of the educational grant, if any.
