RABIES IN MALAYSIA: KNOW THE RISKS, ACT EARLY!

Following the recent human rabies case in Kedah, the Malaysian Society of Infection Control and Infectious Diseases (MyICID) has issued a public health advisory to raise awareness about rabies prevention.

Rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms appear, but it is preventable with prompt action.

Our advisory highlights the current rabies situation in Malaysia, high-risk areas, warning signs, and what to do following an animal bite or scratch.

Remember: Wash the wound for 15 minutes, seek medical attention promptly, and complete all prescribed rabies vaccine doses.

Please read the attached advisory and share it with your family, friends and colleagues. Awareness and early action can save lives.
